Michael Tjia is a designer, developer, and researcher based in The Hague. He prototypes and builds interfaces that connect things, spaces, and people. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in architecture and data-visualization at Delft University of Technology. His work at the Design, Data and Society research group examines data-visualization as a way to integrate data from building services into architectural design.
Previously, he has held teaching positions at Design Academy Eindhoven and Avans Hogeschool Breda. He holds master degrees in architecture from Delft University of Technology and The Berlage. Previous clients and collaborators include Bits of Freedom, Crossing Parallels, Eurail, Gemeente Rotterdam, IABR, Nederlandse Galerie Associatie, and wysiwyg cinema.
